Ellsworth High School's Talor Hamilton was named on Monday, November 9th as the Wendy's High School Heisman State Winner for Maine!

To be chosen as a finalist, you must be a Senior in High School, maintaining a GPA of 3.0 (B) or better and need to be proven leaders and role models within their school and community. Additionally, one must perform in at least one of the 43 school sponsored sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee in the Summer and Winter Olympic Games or the National Federation of State High School Association.

There were 10 male finalists and 10 female finalists for the State of Maine. Hamilton, and Maeve McGovern from Morse High School were selected as the State Winners. As such, if they do not go on, they will receive a Wendy's High School Heisman State Winner's Patch, and $50 Wendy's Gift Card and a donation of $1000 to the High School in the State Winner's name.

There will be 10 National Finalists, 5 male and 5 female from each of the 5 geographical regions. They will receive if they don't go on to becoming the National Winner, a Gold Medal, $100 Wendy's Gift Card and a donation of $2000 to the High School in the State Winner's name.

The National Winners, 1 male and 1 female will receive recognition during ESPN's national telecast of the College Heisman Award. They will receive a High School Heisman Award, a Heisman National Winner Patch, a $500 Wendy's Gift Card and a donation of $5000 to the High School in the State Winner's name
