Tuesday was the last day of August, and I was cautiously optimistic when I visited the Downeast Tower Cams this morning. Sunrise was at 5:53 and that's just about when I did my whip around. The result... some beautiful photos!
While Elmer took me for a walk tonight on Monday, August 30th, I was amazed at how beautiful the sunset was here in Bangor, and thought that it was probably even more amazing on the Island. Sure enough it was!
It was a cloudy, foggy start to the final Monday of August this morning. I had high hopes of seeing a beautiful sunrise as sunrise was at 5:52 a.m. but Mother Nature had other ideas. All photos were taken between 5:55 a.m. and 6:05 a.m.
Today is Saturday, August 28th. For most, it's the last Saturday of "summer" as school begins for most sometime this week! Incredible, to think how quickly time passes! Make the most of today! Finally! This is why I have been waking up early... A morning like this! The fog has gone, and we are treated to beautiful skies. Sunrise was at 5:46 a.m. and low tide at 7:29 a.m. These photos were taken between 5:50 a.m. and 6 a.m.

The Hancock County Planning Commission will be hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, August 28th. The collection will take place at Ellsworth High School from 9:00 am to 1:00 p.m. This collection will be for Liquid Materials hazardous waste only! No electronics or other hardware products will be accepted.
