High School Basketball Tournament

As of Tuesday morning, February 8th, there are only 8 undefeated High School Basketball Teams remaining in the State of Maine. 4 of the teams are in Northern Maine and 4 in Southern Maine.

There is just a week and a half left in the regular season, with the last countable game needing to be played by Thursday, February 10th. Still a lot of time for teams to move up and down the Heal Point Standings. Here are the Updated Class AA, A, B , C and D Northern Maine Heal Points as of Sunday, January 30th.

The #1 Ellsworth Boys Basketball Team will play host to the #5 Old Town Coyotes on Friday night, March 5th at 5:30 p.m. at Katsiaficas Gymnasium. Here's how to listen and watch the game!

What a great memory from February 23, 2019! The MDI Girls Basketball Team became the Class B North Champions after beating the Waterville Purple Panthers 44-35 at the Cross Insurance Center. Check out the photos and the sounds of the game

If you are an Ellsworth Eagles fan, or even just a fan of High School Basketball, we think you'll love looking back on the February 17, 2016 Ellsworth Eagle 42-40 victory over the Caribou Vikings in Overtime. The game was tied on a last second 3-pointer from just over half court by Bryce Harmon and then the winning shot by Bruce St. Peter as overtime ended!

Monday was always Class D Day at the Tournament in Bangor! We can't wait to see the Class D schools in Bangor next year on their day along with the fans, cheerleaders, band members and parents!

The Ellsworth Eagles Girls Basketball Team coached by Steve Joy were a dominant team in 1992 and 1993. They won the Eastern Maine Championships in 1992, before losing to York in the State finals. In 1993 they were back in the Eastern Maine finals playing Houlton.

The #2 seeded Ellsworth Boys Basketball Team beat the #3 seeded Washington Academy Raiders 54-34 on Wednesday, February 19th in the Class B North semifinals and will play in the finals on Saturday afternoon, February 22nd at 3:45 p.m. Here's the Box Score and Recap as well as photos
