Former Ellsworth Eagle Ellie Clarke had a productive weekend for Husson University Women's Swim Team, in meets on Saturday and Sunday, January 18th and 19th. She earned 5 1st's, and a 2nd place and set a Husson pool record!

Former MDI Trojan Lydia DaCorte continued her winning ways, winning all 4 races she competed in to help lead the Wheaton Lyons to a 166-127 win over WPI on Wednesday, January 15th.

Each semester the Academic Dean of Eastern Maine Community College prepares a list of those full-time students who have earned a semester grade point average of 3.25 or higher at EMCC.Congratulations to the following Hancock and Washington County students who are on the Dean's list

Former MDI Trojan Deandra Kanu who graduated in 2014 is competing in Season 24 of The Bachelor. Monday, January 13th was the 2nd episode and Deandra accepted one of the roses. There are 19 women left after 3 were sent home.

After missing the early part of the season recovering from surgery, former MDI Trojan Lydia DaCorte returned to the pool with a vengeance this past weekend, winning 4 races on Friday, and 4 on Saturday, January 10th and 11th.

It was another good swim meet for former Ellsworth Eagle Ellie Clarke, as she finished 1st in 3 out of 4 races on Saturday, January 11th in a dual meet with Gordon and St. Joseph's College in Standish.

We love recognizing the achievements of local high school students as they head off to college and beyond. While we don't have the UMaine announcement yet, and will post when we do, we want to congratulate the following former MDI, Sumner and Ellsworth students who made the Dean's List for the 2019 Fall Semester.

Former MDI Trojan Deandra Kanu who graduated in 2014 is competing in Season 24 of The Bachelor. Monday, January 6th was the premiere episode and while it ended with a To Be Continued.... Deandra accepted one of the roses.

Congratulations to former MDI Trojan, Megan Howell, who won the UMaine Symphonic Band's concerto competition. Howell graduated in 2017 and is studying for a double major in Music Education and Flute Performance

Deandra Kanu, who graduated from MDI High School in 2014, is one of 30 women who will be competing on ABC's "The Bachelor." Now in its 24th season, show will premiere on Monday, January 6th with a special 3 hour show, from 8 - 11 p.m.
