Nokomis Regional High Principal Mary Nadeau has announced that the Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2013 will be held Friday, June 7, 2013 at 7:00 pm in the Nokomis gymnasium.  Andrea Pelkey , a native of Palmyra and 1998 graduate from Nokomis will be the guest speaker for the graduation ceremony.  Pelkey received her Bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College and her master’s degree from Emerson College, currently works as a Producer for ESPN.

Principal Nadeau is also pleased to announce the top two students in the Class of 2013.  Ranked first in her class, Olivia McAnirlin has been named Valedictorian.  Olivia plans on attending Colby-Sawyer College majoring in Exercise Science.  Olivia is the daughter of Heather and William McAnirlin of Newport, Maine.

Salutatorian, ranked second in the class is Hannah Paradis.  Hannah plans on attending Oklahoma State University where she has been accepted into their Honors Program with a math and science focus with a pre-med major.  Hannah is the daughter of Scott Paradis and Glenda Paradis of Corinna, Maine.

 

 

 

 

 

Scholarships and other awards will be presented to graduating seniors at Class Night on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 7 p.m.  Other student speakers during Graduation week include the Senior Class Officers:  President, Nicholas LaGross son of Lisa and Jeff LaGross of Palmyra, Vice President, Lucas Hayden, son of Dann and Lisa Hayden of Hartland, Treasurer, Kalee Kershner, daughter of Buddy and Karey Kershner of Newport, Secretary, Zachary Hewins, son of Daniel and Kelly Hewins of Corinna, and Historian, Fenton Cummings, son of Lisa Cummings of Newport.  Admittance to Graduation is by ticket only and admittance to Class Night is first-come, first-serve
