Cancer sucks! There's not just any way to say it, and I'm tired of sugar-coating it. We all know too many of our friends and loved ones that either have had, or have cancer. The one good thing is that when someone does have cancer, the community rallies around, providing food, and helping with the major expenses.

On Saturday, January 6th there will be a benefit dance at the Ellsworth VFW Hall Post 109 to help Richard Flewelling with the cost of his prostate surgery.

Admission is $20.00 per person and the event is taking place from 5 to 11 p.m, with the dance taking place from 7 to 10 p.m. The Tim Lewis Band will be playing.

You can stop by at 5 p.m. and just purchase raffle tickets if you wish. Some of the items being raffled off include

  • Custom canoe paddle
  • Granite Meat board
  • Custom Charcuterie Board
  • Maine Granite Trivet
  • Numerous Gift Certificates.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Richard and his family in their fight.
