6 PM Update

The National Weather Service has upped it's snow forecast :( Right now, they are expecting 12-20 inches of snow in the Greater Bangor area and into Ellsworth, Bar Harbor and Cherryfield with the  greatest snowfall in Washington County. The winter storm warning remains in effect from 7 PM Saturday night into 1 PM Sunday. Driving is strongly discouraged during the peak of the snowstorm. Tomorrow, be sure to call before you go as many church services and activities will be canceled.

On the back of the heavy wet snow Thursday night into Friday, Eastern Maine is set to get pounded again, Saturday night into Sunday, February 15th into the 16th. There's a winter storm warning in effect from 7 PM Saturday night into 1 PM Sunday. The forecast from the National Weather Service in Caribou is calling for 7-14 inches of heavy wet snow in the greater Bangor area, and 12-18 inches of heavy wet snow for the Ellsworth, Bar Harbor, Cherryfield and Machias area. Blowing and drifting snow is expected.

Please make sure you take all necessary precautions today, and when shoveling or snowblowing on Sunday, that you take it nice and slow.
