Vortherms to Portland Press Herald

It's always bittersweet when good young people leave the area to take a job that will advance their career. Such is the case with Taylor Vortherms who was the Ellsworth American's Sport's Editor.

She was great at juggling her time, covering a variety of sports and schools and was fantastic at weaving together a story and a super photographer as well. Her two part series on concussions in sports this summer should win an award.

Vortherms who took over from Hugh Bowden worked at the Ellsworth American since 2013. Her first day at the Portland Press Herald was Monday, August 15, 2015.
