Two schools were on lock down after children told school personnel they saw a man nearby in the woods. 

Augusta Police Officers were on the scene in the area of Farrington School and Cony High School investigating the report of a suspicious male in the woods witnessed by children. Due to the nature of the male’s reported behavior, police and school officials locked down the schools while the area was searched by law enforcement to ensure everyone's safety.

There have been no injuries reported and Law Enforcement secured the area while a thorough search was conducted. Augusta Police have received several calls from concerned parents and citizens, and they'd like to reassure everyone that the situation is being handled accordingly.
