Sportsmanship At Its Best
Successful football programs promote family. Think about it, there are team dinners. Student athletes spend 6 days a week with their team from mid August through the end of October. They fight, they hit, they bleed, they cheer, they cry, they win, they lose and they do it all together.
In Friday night's football game between Washington Academy and Ellsworth, a Washington Academy player was injured and was taken to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. Katrina and Pat Kane, the mom and dad of senior Ethan Kane stopped by the hospital just to check in with the family, and left this note. The Kane's son Ethan, broke his arm in the second game of the season, and missed being on the field for the rest of his senior year.
The note was shared by the Washington Academy Football Coach, to Duane Crawford who shared it. This is family. You may not be wearing the same uniform, but you're playing the same game.
