WDEA, A Downeast Tradition

The MDI Trojans Softball Team swept Presque Isle winning 10-1 and 9-7 on Monday afternoon, April 22nd in Bar Harbor. The games were postponed from Saturday, April 20th.

The Ellsworth Girls Tennis Team beat the Old Town Coyotes 5-0 at Ellsworth High School on Monday, April 22nd.

The Boston Red Sox completed their sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates, winning Sunday 6-1 on the road. Boston is 13-10 overall with a record of 10-3 on the road and just 3-7 at Fenway.

The Boston Red Sox beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-2 on Saturday afternoon, but suffered another injury as Triston Casas left the game with a rib injury. The Red Sox play the final game of the 3-game series with the Pirates Sunday afternoon. The pregame begins at 12:35 p.m. with the 1st pitch at 1:35 p.m. on AM 1370 WDEA.

9 schools competed on a rainy, raw day at Cameron Stadium in Bangor for a Track and Field Meet on Saturday, April 20th. Competing were teams from Bangor, Bangor Christian, Bucksport, Fort Fairfield, George Stevens Academy,  Hampden Academy, John Bapst, Penquis Valley and Sumner

The Boston Red Sox blasted 4 home runs Friday night and Brayan Bello 1-hit the Pittsburgh Pirates through 6 innings as the Red Sox beat the Pirates 8-1.Boston is now 11-10. They will play Pittsburgh in the 2nd game of the 3-game series Saturday afternoon. Kutter Crawford is scheduled to start for the Red Sox.
