The Ellsworth Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Saturday night, December 29th. They stopped 429 vehicles during the checkpoint.

Of the 429 vehicles stopped, 1 driver was arrested for Operating Under the Influence. There were no other citations issued.
The Ellsworth Police Department's sobriety checkpoint was funded by a grant by the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety specifically for OUI enforcement.
