On a night that the Boston Red Sox placed ace Chris Sale on the 10 Day Disable List again with shoulder inflammation, the Boston Red Sox beat the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday, August 18th 5-2 despite only managing 5 hits.

David Price pitched 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. He struck out 8 and walked 2. He had a shutout going until CJ Cron hit his 23rd homer of the season. The Red Sox  have won each of his last 7 starts and 15 of his last 17. Ryan Brasier pitched a scoreless 8th and Craig Kimbrel a scoreless 9th for his 37th save of the season.

JD Martinez was 1-2, hitting his major league leading 38th homer of the season. He scored 2 runs, and walked once and had a stolen base.

Andrew Benintendi was 2-4 with a double.  Mitch Moreland was 1-4 with a double an run batted in. He also had a stolen base.

The Red Sox remain 10.5 games ahead of the New York Yankees who beat Toronto 11-6 on Saturday.

The Red Sox will send Hector Velazquez to the mound on Sunday in the series finale with the Tampa Bay Rays. The pregame begins at 12:20 with the 1st pitch at 1:05 on AM 1370 WDEA.
