Emera Maine crews are being deployed to respond to a series of power outages throughout their service area this evening in the wake of another winter storm. Currently more than 3,800 customers are out due to heavy snow and strong wind gusts bringing down trees onto power lines. The Storm Response Team has been monitoring the forecast for several days and additional staffing and other resources were on standby in anticipation of the storm. Crews will be working through the night and well into Thanksgiving Day to restore service to customers as safely and quickly as possible.

Customers are reminded to never touch a downed line or a tree in contact with one.  Anyone using alternate heat sources or generators are urged to follow manufacturer guidelines and take proper safety precautions.

Customers may report outages or ask questions by calling Emeran Maine's Customer Service Center at (207) 973-2020 or 1-855-EMERA11 (1-855-363-7211). Theymay also follow Emera Maine on Twitter at @emerame

Restoration times will be posted to www.emeramaine.com as damage is assessed. Damage assessment will begin after the peak of the storm, which is expected to occur around 4:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
