Old Town police have identified the construction worker who was killed yesterday after falling from a roof. Police say Jon Atwood, 32 of Bangor, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Atwood was working with a crew installing a roof on an addition to an existing commercial building at 601 Stillwater Avenue in Old Town. At around 3:30 Thursday afternoon, Old Town Police and Fire were called to the site after Atwood reportedly lost his balance and fell headfirst to the pavement below.

Old Town Police are working with OSHA and the Medical Examiner's Office to determine cause of death and what caused Atwood to fall. Sergeant Michael Hashey says all evidence points to this being an accidental death, but the investigation is ongoing.

Old Town Police were assisted by members of the Orono Police Department and the Maine State Police at the scene.
