Machias resident, and Pearl Harbor survivor, Robert Coles will be flying into Bar Harbor-Hancock County Airport in Trenton on Sunday, December 11th at approximately 1:30 PM. Mr. Coles flew out to Pearl Harbor as one of the few survivors, on this the 75th Anniversary of a Date that Would Live In Infamy.

As when he flew out from Bar Harbor-Hancock County Airport, there will be an escort to bring him home to Machias, comprised of the Hancock County Sheriff's Department, other law enforcement and public safety agencies and others.

The Hancock County Sheriff's Department is encouraging families to line the travel route along Route 3 in Trenton to the Jordan River Road to the Mud Creek Road to US Route1 in Hancock and onto Machias and give Mr. Coles a good ol' Hancock/Washington County hero's welcome home
