It's something special when you throw a no-hitter, it's even more special when you throw it in front of a former big league  pitcher! That was the case Tuesday, May 20th as MDI's Tom Paola pitched a no-hitter, to lead the MDI Trojans to a 2-0 victory over the Hermon Hawks, coached by former Major League pitcher, Matt Kinney, at Mahaney Diamond on the campus of the University of Maine.

Paola pitched a complete game, walking 2 and striking out 5 for the no hitter.

Reilly Swanson drove in the two runs for MDI with a triple, and Jack Sasner and Steven Hanscom each had singles for the Trojans.

MDI is now 6-4 on the season, and plays at George Stevens tomorrow, Wednesday May 21st at 4:30 and then hosts Old Town Saturday, May 24th at 12 noon. Hermon is 6-3 and plays at Foxcroft Academy Wednesday May 24 at 4:30 and then a doubleheader Saturday, May 24th at Caribou at 12 Noon and 2 PM.
