24 hours after Wade Miley's dismal performance put Baltimore in a hole, Drew Pomeranz did the same thing to the Red Sox. The lefty gave up five runs in the second inning and the Sox never recovered and fell to the O's 6-3.

Pomeranz was pitching with extra rest and he still gave up a 3-run homer to J.J. Hardy and a 2-run shot to Nolan Reimold.

As is often the case with the Sox, a night after pounding the ball, they could get no offense generated 24 hours later. They were 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position.

The best thing you can say about last night - well, the Blue Jays lost and the Sox lead stays at two games in the AL East.

The Red Sox and Orioles play the final game of the three game series Wednesday night with the pregame starting at 6:25 and 1st pitch at 7:10 on AM 1370 WDEA
