MDI YWCA Announces Creation of “Benni Fund”

I can't really think of a better way to honor Benni McMullen, the longtime director of the MDI YWCA who passed away in March. The "Benni Fund" is designed to offer financial assistance to single mothers in the Mount Desert Island communities and surrounding towns who are suffering hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The YWCA Board of Directors have voted to set aside a portion of the existing budget to help single mothers in need. The pandemic has caused job losses, and financial hardships for many.
