MDI Girls Beat Ellsworth on Saturday

The MDI Glrl's Soccer team shutout Ellsworth on Saturday, September 24th in Bar Harbor 4-0. Ally Bender and Lily Turner each had a goal and an assist for the Trojans.

Lily Turner scored the first goal for MDI with 28:56 left in the 1st Half off of a one touch volley from a cross from Ally Bender. With 20:05 left before Half, Abbe Miller shot the ball near post, off of a pass from Lily Turner.

The 1st Half ended with MDI up 2-0.

In the 2nd Half, MDI scored on penalty kicks, one each by Bender and Daisy Granholm.

MDI's Cassia Barnes earned her 1st shutout of the season, making 7 saves, while Ellsworth's Callie Hammer recorded 23 saves.

In the JV game, MDI beat Ellsworth 1-0. Alahna Mild scored the lone goal of the game, int he 2nd Half. Hannah Goodwin had the shutout for the Trojans.

MDI is 2-6 and host John Bapst on Tuesday, September 27th at 6 PM.

Ellsworth is 0-6 and plays at Old Town on Tuesday, September 27th at 3:30 PM.
