The MDI Trojans remained perfect on the season, improving to 11-0, with a 59-44 victory over the John Bapst Crusaders on Saturday afternoon, January 10th at Bernard Parady Gymnasium in Bar Harbor.

MDI jumped out to a 21-2 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. MDI went on a 12-0 run to start the game, before Gracie Phillipon scored for John Bapst with 2:16 remaining in the 1st Quarter. For MDI, Kelsey Shaw scored 8 points including a 3-pointer, Sierra Tapley had 6 points, Darcy Kanu had 4 points and Sarah Phelps had a 3-pointer.

MDI increased the lead to 34-12 at the half. Shaw had 5 points in the 2nd Quarter including a 3-pointer, Kanu added 4 points, and Keely McConomy and Tapley added 2 points for MDI. In the 4th Quarter, MDI played their reserves for the most part, and John Bapst was able to take advantage of that fact, outscoring MDI 25-8 in the Quarter. True had 9 points including a 3-pointer before fouling out with 4:17 remaining in the game. Hannah Phillipon had 6 points, inclding a 3-pointer, Gracie Phillipon had 3 points and Abbey Lagasse had 3 points. Bell added a basket and Caleigh Lebel went 1-2 from the free throw line. MDI got baskets from Kanu, Ali Bierman, Tapley and Sara Norberg.

MDI was led by Kelsey Shaw and Sierra Tapley each of whom scored 17 points. Darcy Kanu had 12 points. The Trojans went 6-15 from the free throw line.

John Bapst was led by Maegan True with 17 points, while Gracie Phillipon had 7 points. The Crusaders were 10-21 from the free throw line.

MDI now 11-0, plays at Foxcroft Academy on Tuesday, January 13th at 7 PM in a game that will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370 and WDEA Internet Radio.
