MDI Boys Survive Washington Academy Winning 65-60 in Overtime [PHOTOS/STATS]

The MDI Boy's Basketball Team went 7-8 from the free throw line in overtime and survived the Washington Academy Raiders, winning 65-60 on Thursday, January 30th in Bar Harbor.

The Trojans led 17-12 at the end of the 1st Quarter and 30-25 at the end of the 1st Half. MDI led 44-43 at the end of the 3rd thanks to a buzzer-beating 3-pointer by Dylan Stoll. The game was tied 56-56 at the end of the regulation. Washington Academy's Clay Crosman had a chance at the winning shot at the buzzer at the end of regulation but his shot didn't go in the basket.

MDI was led by James Witham with 32 points, including 3 3-pointers. He was a near-perfect 9-10 from the free throw line. Dylan Stoll had 10 points with a 3-pointer. Lincoln Gray and Preston Tripp each had a 3-pointer. MDI was 17-21 from the free throw line.

Clay Crosman finished with 26 points for Washington Academy with a 3-pointer. He scored 13 points in the 3rd Quarter. Parker Cates had 13 points, with a 3-pointer. Max Cates had 11 points, with 3 3-pointers. Carter Wannemacher and Ada Gungon each had a 3-pointer. Washington Academy was 5-8 from the free throw line.

MDI is 10-7 with 1 game remaining in the regular season. They will play at Ellsworth on Wednesday, February 5th at 7 p.m. on Senior Recognition Night.
