MDI Boys Fall to Hampden
The MDI Boy's Basketball team tipped off their preseason schedule at Hampden, Saturday morning, November 23rd. It was the mutual preseason opener for both teams.
It was a strong test for the MDI Boys who graduated the majority of their 2012-13 team, as they were playing the 2013 Class A State Champion Broncos, who are favored to repeat in 2014! The MDI Boys did well, holding their own, until Hampden came out in the 3rd Quarter, hitting three three pointers to start the quarter. Hampden defeated MDI 74-48.
MDI was led by Stephen Hanscom with 16 points including 1 3 pointer. Hampden was led by Zach Gilpin with 21 points including 2 3 pointers.
The MDI Boy's team will open their regular season Saturday December 7th at home against Old Town at 3:30. That game will be on WDEA AM 1370 and WDEA Internet Radio. The Hampden Boys will open their regular season on Friday December 6th against Brewer on Friday December 6th at the Cross Insurance Center as part of a boys/girls doubleheader on 92.9 The Ticket and ONLINE.
