The MDI Boy's Soccer Team appears to be peaking at the right time, as they now have won 6 games in a row, after defeating Old Town 2-0 in the Class B North Prelim Game held in Bar Harbor on a windy day, on Friday October 21st.

Old Town had the wind at their backs in the 1st Half, but MDI carried the majority of the play, keeping the ball on the Coyote side the majority of the half. Despite both teams having some chances, the score was 0-0 at the end of the 1st Half.

In the 2nd Half, a Trojan player was dragged down in the box, and MDI was awarded a penalty kick with 31:18 remaining in the half. Senior Joe Grubb drilled it low and to the left, and MDI led 1-0.

The score remained that way until 5:26 remaining in the game, when MDI was again awarded a kick, from 25 yards out. Senior Eli McDonnell chipped it up, and the wind took it, finding the back of the net over the outstretched fingers of the Old Town goalkeeper, Austin Sheehan.

Senior Kendrew VanGorder recorded the shutout for the Trojans.

MDI, now 7-6-2 advance to play Winslow, the number 2 seed on Tuesday, October 25th at Winslow.
