MDI 72 Old Town 58 [Box Score]

The MDI Trojans defeated Old Town 72-58 in Old Town on Saturday, December 5th, as the Trojans hit 18-22 free throws in the 4th Quarter. MDI outscored Old Town 27-14 in the final quarter.

Old Town took a 14-8 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter, but MDI outscored Old Town 23-13 in the 2nd Quarter to take a 31-27 lead at the Half. Old Town narrowed the lead to 1 at the end of the 3rd Quarter 45-44 but the Trojans were able to convert the free throws to secure the win!

MDI was led by Russell Kropff who had 23 points. Kropff was 10-12 from the free throw line. Riley Swanson had 14 points including 3 3-pointers. Andrew Phelps, Gus Reeves, Aaron Snurkowski, and Kropff all had 3-pointers, as MDI had 7 3-pointers on the night. The Trojans ended up 23-32 from the free throw line.

Old Town was led by Andre Miller with 21 points, while Kaleb Gifford had 12 points. Gifford, and Jake Jarvis each has 2 3-pointers, while, Chad Bartlett and Miller each had 1 3-pointer. Old Town was 8-15 from the free throw line.

Old Town's Drew Coulombe, Jake Jarvis and Ryan Hoogterp all fouled out, and Chad Bartlett was disqualified after receiving 2 technical fouls.

MDI is now 1-0 and will travel to Washington Academy on Thursday, December 10th in a game that will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370 and WDEA Internet Radio.

Old Town is 0-1 and travels to Lincoln to play Mattanawcook Academy on Tuesday, December 8th at 7 PM
