Legion Ball is Back in Hancock County

The Acadian Baseball team has started play, after a year's hiatus, and they started off their 21 game season with a bang, yesterday, June 16th, when they defeated the Calais team by a score of 5-1.

The Acadians are coached by Kyle McKim, who graduated from MDI High School in 2011, and currently attends the University of New Hampshire. McKim had previously coached the Senior League Team the past couple of years, and wanted the challenge of coaching in Legion Ball, and wanted to be sure the Acadians were back into existence after last year's hiatus.

24 players tried out, and there are 18 on the team, the league maximum. The team draws from Mount Desert Island High School, Ellsworth High School, George Steven's Academy, Deer Isle-Stonington High School.

Dakota Chipman, Cody Del Conte, Mitchell Domagala, Jacob Maguire, Conor Maguire Steven Mahon and Sid St. Peter from Ellsworth High School; Anthony Bianco, Ben Eley, Will Ricker, Cooper Smallidge and Hank Vinall from George Stevens Academy; Steve Hanscom, Keegan McKim, Jon Phelps and Ben Walls from Mount Desert Island High School; Connor Morey from Deer Isle-Stonington High School; and Joe Archambault from John Bapst High School.
