John Bapst 12 MDI 11

The John Bapst Crusaders defeated MDI 12-11 on Tuesday afternoon, May 26th  at Husson University.

MDI jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning, but John Bapst answered scoring 1 run in the bottom of the 1st inning. They then scored 9 runs in the bottom of the 2nd and 3rd inning to take a 10-2 lead after 3 innings.

MDI scored 1 run in the top of the 4th, but the Crusaders scored 2 in the bottom of the 4th, and the score was 12-3. MDI scored 5 runs in the 5th inning and 3 in the 6th inning but weren't able to push across the tying run.

Kayla Massey pitched a complete game for John Bapst for the win, allowing 13 hits, 11 runs, 8 of which were earned. She struck out 8 and walked 3.

MDI's Haley Littlefield took the loss. She allowed 10 runs, but only 1 was earned. She struck out 2 and walked 2 while giving up 9 hits. Aubrie Boyce pitched 3 innings in relief, allowing 2 runs, all unearned. She gave up 3 hits, struck out 2 and walked 1.

For MDI Avalon Kerley was 4-5with a double. Alaina Duley was 3-4. Katie Guarino was 2-2. Aubrie Boyce was 1-1 with a double. Darcy Kanu was 1-5. Cassidy Parady was 1-5 and Haley Littlefield was 1-3.

For John Bapst, Madison Higgins was 3-4, Kayla Massey was 3-4 with a double. Maliyan Binette was 2-4, Shelby Mailman was 2-4, Gina Cambria was 1-3, and Jocelyn Bell was 1-4.

MDI is now 5-9. The Trojans have 2 home games remaining, on Thursday May 28th against George Steven's Academy and Tuesday, June 2nd against Ellsworth.

John Bapst is 4-10. The Crusaders have 2 home games remaining, on Thursday, May 28th against Lee Academy and Tuesday, June 2nd against Foxcroft Academy
