While the City of Bangor is working to put the finishing touches on the roadways downtown, in time for the Memorial Day Weekend and parade, the owners of a new business on Harlow Street are putting the finishing touches on their storefront, in time for their expected opening at the end of the month.

Much like their neighbor, vintage retailer White Lobster Vintage, who opened up shop at 10 Harlow Street in 2022, Log Jam Vintage owners Miriam Davidson and Jeremy Richardson, had been selling vintage items online for years, before falling in love with the historic Pearl building in Bangor, and deciding to open up a literal brick-and-mortar storefront at 8 Harlow Street.

The couple lives in Jonesport, where they recently purchased the Moose Peak Lighthouse. They're currently restoring the space while acting as stewards of this important maritime property.

Essentially, this new business of selling vintage clothes out of a historic building in Bangor will go to benefit another historic property downeast, which kind of tracks with the mission of what vintage retailers do: reuse.

Vintage Photos of Hollywood Starlets Showing Off Maine License Plates In the 1950's

Check out these old photos from the 1950's from the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles capturing an era when showcasing the latest license plate design required pretty women and, sometimes, a lot of leg. Funny enough, these women are Hollywood actresses that may be known by other names. See who was modeling Maine's license plates in this bygone era of 'Old Hollywood'.
