Serious Crash On 395 In Bangor Friday Sends 2 To The Hospital
Maine State Police are looking into a crash that took place on 395 in Bangor Friday night, sending 2 people to the hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities say a 1992 Mazda Miata, driven by 23-year-old Devon Ireland of Bangor, launched over the guardrail, landing in the middle of both eastbound lanes, after Ireland attempted to make a turn and lost control of the vehicle. The crash happened in the area of mile marker 1 on I-395, just before 9 PM.
"The passenger, 23-year-old Lauren McCann of Bangor, who does not appear to have been wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and sustained life-threatening injuries. Ireland also suffered significant injuries in the crash. Speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors."
Ireland and McCann were both taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

Authorities are still investigating the crash. The clean-up and processing of the scene took several hours as members of the Maine State Police Northern Field Troop gathered evidence and Union Street Towing worked to remove the vehicle from both lanes of traffic.
