From Maine to Saturday Night Live — meet the one and only person from the Pine Tree State to ever host the iconic show!

Saturday Night Live gets ready to kick off Season 51, on October 4th, so it got us to thinking about an important question...has anyone from Maine ever hosted SNL?

Now back in 1980, Bangor native, Charles Rocket, was a cast member, who also briefly hosted the iconic Weekend Update segment on the show.

As far as hosting duties go, the answer it yes, but it has only happened one single time!

When actress Anna Kendrick hosted on April 5th, 2014, during Season 39, she was the first Mainer ever to take the stage at Studio 8H.

She was born in Portland, and is a 2003 graduate of Deering High School.

She showed early talent that led to a Broadway role at just 12 years old in the musical "High Society". That performance earned her a Tony Award nomination, making her one of the youngest nominees in history.

Her film career took off in 2009 with "Up in the Air", earning her nominations for an Academy Award, Golden Globe, and BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress.

And you have definitely seen her in the "Twilight" series, as well as "Pitch Perfect", where she actually had a Top 40 hit with the song "Cups" Remember that one?
