If you needed any more reasons to attend the final boy's basketball game of the season on Friday, February 7th at Bernard Parady Gymnasium between the Ellsworth Eagles and MDI Trojans, well, here it is!

Never mind that this game will be worth a ton of Heal Points for either MDI or Ellsworth, and will help determine their final seedings. Never mind that it will be the Battle For Hancock County Part 2! Never mind that it will be a game between two rivals. Nope, there's something much more important involved that night, and that is, it's Breast Cancer Awareness Night.

I love the fact that this year, it's going to be held at the boy's game. Unfortunately, we all know of someone that's been impacted by cancer. I have had it twice. My mother has had breast cancer. It's important for guys to learn about it, and the importance of early detection. The largest factor in surviving breast cancer is to detect it early. That means monthly breast exams, mammograms and guys play a huge role in providing a support system if their loved one ever has breast cancer.

On February 7th put away your green or you maroon. Support the cause and wear PINK! There will be shirts for sale, and donations will be accepted. There will be educational material available as well. Let's unite and defeat cancer!
