Police say a Hermon woman hid about 42 grams of heroin in a body cavity.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says 36-year-old Kimberly Cote is charged with aggravated trafficking in heroin.

McCausland says Cote was pulled over by MDEA agents and state police near the York toll plaza on the Maine Turnpike Tuesday.

Nothing was found in her vehicle but Cote allegedly hid about 42 grams of heroin in a body cavity.

McCausland says Cote was on her way back from New York and the drugs, which had a street value of about $8,000, were likely headed for the Bangor area.

Cote was transported to the York County Jail, where she is being held without bail.
