Governor Urges Mainers To Report Ice Storm Damage

Maine residents are being urged to report any ice storm damage to their homes and/or businesses. Governor Paul LePage says the information will help the state government know the extent of the damage and which areas were hardest hit.

LePage says businesses that suffered a significant loss of revenue because of the ice storm should also report their losses. While reporting the damage won't guarantee any financial help, it may send Mainers in the right direction to look for it.

Anyone who wishes to file a report should call 211, the statewide directory for health and human services. Specialists will be on hand to direct callers to appropriate sources for help.

Again, these calls will not be considered applications for assistance, but will help the state know how many were affected and what areas were hardest hit. Governor Lepage also urges Mainers to call their insurance companies and report any damage.
