Do NOT be alarmed if you see lots of police cars at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, July 27th between 12 Noon and 4 PM or if you hear lots of scanner traffic. It is only a drill!

The Ellsworth Police Department in conjunction with the State Police and Maine Coast Memorial Hospital will be holding an active shooter training scenario in the Administrative Wing at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital on Wednesday July 27th between Noon and 4 PM.

The training will consist of several simulations mimicking domestic disputes with employees or upset patient scenarios. After the training, there will be a debriefing and a walk through of the entire hospital facility.

This is just part of ongoing series of training exercises that the Ellsworth Police Department conducts to insure their readiness to handle all issues that they may face in protecting and serving the public.
