Maine drug agents have arrested an Ellsworth man and charged him with making meth in the woods near his motel room.

The arrest of Scott Bagley, 51, was part of a year-long investigation by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, according to a news release put out by the agency on Tuesday.

Monday afternoon, agents approached Bagley as he emerged from the woods behind the motel while in possession of meth-making materials, the release said.

Agents said he had just finished cooking meth in two separate locations in the woods.

Bagley was arrested, charged with aggravated operation of a methamphetamine lab and transported to the Hancock County Jail.

No bail has been set for Bagley, who is scheduled to make his initial court appearance Wednesday in Ellsworth Unified Court.

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.

Bagley's arrest marks the 103rd time the MDEA has responded to a meth-related incident this year.
