Ellsworth Girls Beat Houlton 66-32 [STATS]

The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team closed out 2024 with a win, beating the Houlton Shiretowners 66-32 at Katsiaficas Gymnasium on Monday, December 30th.

The 1st Quarter was high scoring, with Ellsworth leading 20-13. The Eagle's defense then clamped down and they led 38-19 at the end of the 1st Half. Ellsworth led 51-25 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Ellsworth was led by Elizabeth Boles, with a game-high 17 points, including 2 3-pointers. Kaylee Bagley had 16 points with 2 3-pointers and Elise Sargent had 14 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Kennedy Clifford scored her 1st varsity points, hitting a field goal in the 4th Quarter. Ellsworth was 12-16 from the free throw line.

Houlton was led by Tori Ervin with 17 points and 1 3-pointer. Amelya Matwyko had 8 points with a 3-pointer. Reagan Wright had a 3-pointer. The Shiretowners were just 3-14 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 5-2. They will travel to play MDI in Bar Harbor on Thursday, January 2nd with the game tipping off at 7 p.m. That game will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device with the pregame beginning at 6:40 p.m.

Houlton is now 1-7 They will host Hermon on Monday, January 6th at 6 p.m.
