The Ellsworth Eagles kicked off their regular season tonight, September 9th with a 3-0 victory over the Hermon Hawks in Hermon, The game was originally supposed to be played in Ellsworth but was switched to Hermon because of the bleacher repair project.

Ellsworth got on the board at the 5:19 mark in the first half when Jack Weeks scored. Ellsworth led 1-0 at the end of the first half.

In the second half, Anthony Gardner scored at the 39:04 mark and Jack Weeks scored his second goal of the night at the 33:07 mark, with an assist by Valter Moeller.

Garrett Kipler played in goal for Hermon, and had 10 saves. For Ellsworth, Bruce St. Peter played in goal the first half, saving 4 shots, and Nick Bagley played in goal the second half and saved 2 shots.

Next up Ellsworth (1-0) plays at John Bapst  (0-1) Friday, September 12th at 4 PM. Hermon (1-1) plays at Old Town (1-0) on Friday, September 12th at 4 PM.
