Ellsworth Boys Beat Foxcroft Academy 63-49 Climb Into 4th Place
The Ellsworth Boys Basketball Team beat the Foxcroft Academy Ponies 63-49 on Thursday, January 31st at Katsiaficas Gymnasium and climbed into 4th place in the Class B North Heal Points.
The Eagles jumped out to a 13-6 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter, and led 32-17 at the end of the 1st Half. Foxcroft Academy outscored Ellsworth 20-18 in the 3rd Quarter, but the Eagles were in front 50-37
Ellsworth had 4 players in double figures. Jackson Curtis had 16 points, Hunter Curtis 13 posts and Darby Barry and Austin Harris each finished with 12 points. The Eagles drained 6 3-pointers. Barry and Harris each had 2 3's and Hunter Curtis and Devin Grindle each draining 1 3-pointer. The Eagles were 9-18 from the free throw line.
Jeremy Richard had a game high 17 points for Foxcroft Academy while Hyatt Smith had 15 points. Jed Dean had a 3-pointer. The Ponies were 10-18 from the free throw line.
Ellsworth is now 11-5 with 2 games remaining in the regular season. The Eagles will play at GSA on Saturday, February 2nd at 7PM and then finish off the regular season at home against MDI on Thursday, February 7th.
