The Ellsworth Eagles rebounded from their loss to Old Town on Thursday, to come back and defeat the Foxcroft Academy Ponies 3-1 in Ellsworth on Friday, May 8th.

Conor Maguire pitched a complete game for Ellsworth just allowing 3 hits, 1 earned run and struck out 12 while walking 4.

Nicholas Decker pitched the first 5 innings for Foxcroft Academy and took the loss. He allowed 3 runs, 2 of which were earned. Decker only gave up 2 hits, but walked 5 while striking out 6.

Foxcroft Academy scored their lone run in the top of the 1st inning. Rockwell singled to start the game and then stole 2nd and 3rd. Simpson walked and stole 2nd base. Strout walked to load the bases and then Rockwell scored when Law was hit by the pitch..

Ellsworth answered in the bottom of the 1st inning. Conor Maguire walked and stole 2nd base. Maguire scored on Nicholas Bagley's single.

In the bottom of the 3rd inning Maguire walked and eventually scored on Bagley's sacrifice fly to make the score 2-1 Ellsworth.

The Eagles scored their final run in the bottom of the 5th. Griffin Nightengale reached on an error. He advanced to 3rd on a sacrifice bunt, and then scored on Alex Braley's sacrifice fly.

For Ellsworth Zach McGraw was 1-3 and Nicholas Bagley was 1-2.

For Foxcroft Academy Rockwell was 1-3, Church was 1-3 with a double and Olson was 1-3.

Ellsworth is now 2-4 on the season. They play at John Bapst on Tuesday, May 12th at 4:30 PM. Foxcroft Academy is 6-2. They play at Old Town on Wednesday, May 14th at 4:30 PM.
