Representative Genevieve McDonald has organized a group of individuals to call members of her State House District 134, to check in with them during this pandemic crisis. District 134 covers the Towns of Cranberry Isles, Frenchboro, Swan's Island, Tremont, Southwest Harbor, Isle au Haut, Deer Isle, Stonington, North Haven and Vinalhaven.

Using the voter lists, volunteers will use a script, similar to the following:

My name is [YOUR NAME] and I’m a volunteer with your State Representative Genevieve McDonald. I’m not calling to talk to you about politics [tonight/today], I’m calling because Representative McDonald and her team are checking in with folks in [TOWN] to see how they are doing during the current COVID-19 crisis. I am hoping to hear from you and connect you to resources in town we're aware of. How is your family holding up? [LISTEN TO RESPONSE] Do you need any kind of community support right now? Would you like us to call you regularly to check in? Thank you so much for talking with me. I am so proud to be a member of a community that is supporting each other during this difficult time. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to give Representative McDonald a call at 266-5113.

Residents can opt-in for future check-in calls and the frequency. If you would like to help volunteer make calls, here is the form to volunteer

If you haven't received a call in the next couple of days, live in District 134 and wish to receive a check-in call, please email Representative McDonald or call her at 266-5113.

Other State leaders are doing similar phone check-ins
