Convicted murderer Charles Manson is getting married. He and his 26-year-old fiance will tie the knot in prison, where Manson has been since 1971. She tells the Associated Press she believes Manson is innocent and wrongly incarcerated.

Charles Manson became the leader of a commune in the late 60's known as the Manson family. In 1971, he was found guilty of conspiracy to commit the deaths of seven people, including actress Sharon Tate. Police at the time said the murders were committed by members of the Manson family at their leader's instruction. He was also convicted of murder for the deaths of Gary Hinman and Donald 'Shorty' Shea.

Now, the 80-year-old convict has been granted a marriage license. His fiance is 26-year-old Afton Elaine Burton, who's spent the last nine years trying to exonerate him. In this video, she tells an Associated Press reporter that she believes he's innocent.

No date has been set but a wedding coordinator has been assigned by the prison to handle the nuptials. Officials say Manson will not be granted conjugal visits because a parole date has not been set. He will next be up for parole in 2027, at the age of 93.
