Mount Desert Island Hospital proudly presents the memorial dedication and ribbon cutting of the Lani K. Naihe & Luzvie E. Estacio Memorial MRI Wing on Friday, July 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The new, state-of-the-art unit is named in memory of two beloved hospital colleagues who were lost last year to glioblastoma. In honor of Lani and Luzvie, more than 130 MDI Hospital employees contributed $42,596 in support of the project.
Masks are optional for anyone attending Sunday's MDI High School Graduation and all MDIRSS schools will return to optional masking on Monday, June 6th, and remain in place for the rest of the school year.

Beach Hazard Statements are issued on days when a significant number of boats and paddlecrafts are expected to be out on the water and when warm air temperatures may cause people to underestimate the dangers of the cold water.
Hancock County continues to be listed as High for Community Transmission of COVID, as of Thursday night, May 19th. As a result, masks will continue to need to be worn in all of the MDI Regional School System Schools and in all Bar Harbor Town facilities through at least May 27th.
