Things could not have gone worse for Fernando Abad in his first game with the Red Sox. He gave up a 3-run blast to Robinson Cano in the 8th inning as the Mariners scored a 5-4 come-from-behind win over the Sox.

David Price was cruising along, seven shutdown innings and then he could not get an out in the 8th. He gave up four straight hits and left with a 4-2 lead.

After Matt Barnes recorded an out, Abad was brought in to face lefty hitter Cano. That's when he cranked the 3-run homer that turned out to be the game winner.

NOTE: To make matters worse, Hanley Ramirez slipped and fell on his way back to the clubhouse. He hurt his wrist trying to break the fall. It is not known how serious the wrist injury is.

The Boston Red Sox and Seattle Mariners play the 3rd game of the 4 game series on Wednesday night with the pregame starting at 9:25 and 1st pitch at 10:10 on AM 1370 WDEA.
