Bucksport Standoff Suspect Allegedly Threatened Explosion
A police standoff in Bucksport yesterday was prompted by a man who was allegedly threatening to use an explosive.
WABI-TV reports police were originally called to the Route 1 residence at around noon for a well-being check. When they arrived, they talked to the 57-year-old man, who threatened to use an explosive. A female was removed from the house and a perimeter set up, that lasted much of the day.
Traffic was rerouted, while police dealt with the situation. Finally, the man surrendered to police without incident. He was taken into protective custody and transported a local hospital for evaluation. The man, whose name has not been released, could face multiple charges.
We'll update this story as more details become available.
