Bucksport Boys Defeat Mariners 69-41
The Bucksport Golden Bucks Boy's Basketball Team defeated Deer Isle-Stonington on Thursday, December 22nd at Ralph Jewett Gymnasium in Bucksport 69-41.
Bucksport jumped out to a 10-6 lead in the 1st Quarter and then led 37-20 at the Half. In the 2nd Quarter, Bucksport's Andy Allan scored 15 points, hitting 4 3-pointers. Bucksport scored 25 points in the 3rd Quarter to lead 62-28. In that Quarter Bucksport's Tyson Gray scored 11 points while Chase Carmichael had 8 points including a 3-pointer.
Bucksport had 4 players in double figures, Andy Allan with a game high 21 points, Tyson Gray with 14 points, Chase Carmichael with 12 points and Tanner Stegner with 11 points. Bucksport had 7 3-pointers, 4 by Allan, 2 by Carmichael and 1 by Stegner. The Golden Bucks were 10-17 from the free throw line.
Deer Isle Stonighton was led by Ethan Shephard with 17 points and Mason Oliver with 13 points. The Mariners had 1 3-pointer, scored by Oliver and were 6-11 from the free throw line.
Bucksport is now 2-3 and will play host to Dexter on Tuesday, December 27th at 7 PM.
Deer Isle - Stonington is 1-4 and plays host to Greenville on Tuesday, December 27th at 4 PM.
