’54 Eagles Honored

The 1954 Ellsworth Eagles Basketball Team has been honored by the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame, and the team will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, based at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor on Sunday August 23, 2015. The event begins at noon and tickets are  $50 per person, $500 for a table of 10.

This 1954 Ellsworth Eagles Basketball Team, led by coach Charlie Katsiaficas, made it all the way to the New England Championship finals before getting beaten by Hillhouse 54-53 in front of 13,000 fans.
