Ruby is still hold up at the shelter and she has informed us that she would much rather be snoozing away in your lap while you're watching the Red Sox.

We've talked about Ruby the "Cow Kitty" before, as she came to the SPCA of Hancock County from a shelter in Georgia back in February.  The bad news is, she's still at the SPCA!

This sweet 7 year-old black and white furball is now more than ready to go to her new  home, and because she is so unassuming and loving, she'd prefer a quiet home without children or other animals in it.  Yes, Ruby would like you all to herself.

Another request from Ruby is that she'd love a family who is going to give her plenty of head scratches and brush her regularly. If you can pull this off then Ruby will reward you with tons of purrs and head bumps!

What more would either of you want?  Maybe the Red Sox to win a game?  We can understand that.

Make an appointment to meet Ruby soon, as we feel that she would make a terrific best friend for either yourself, your family, or maybe someone who lives alone and is in need of companionship.

The SPCA of Hancock County serves EllsworthMount Desert Island and beyond, and is still operating by appointment only for the safety of the animals, as well as visitors and staff. If you are looking to adopt, please check their website where they have an adoption application and the available animals listed. For general inquiries, please call them at 207-667-8088, email info@spcahancockcounty.org, or send them a Facebook message. The shelter is located on Route 3 in Trenton.
