July 4th 2022 is on a Monday this year, and many people will be celebrating the Holiday with a 3-day weekend if not longer! Bar Harbor is definitely one of the best places to celebrate!

The parade steps off at 10 a.m.  and parade participants must be in place by 9:30 on Monday, July 4th. There is NO cost to enter the parade. Registrations must be received by the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce by Thursday June 20th.

The parade steps off at 10 a.m. down by the Athletic fields and travels down Main Street and onto Cottage Street before heading to Mount Desert Street and down Ledgelawn Avenue. The parade typically lasts about a hour with all the floats and participants.

The Bar Harbor Police Department will close all roads that intersect with the parade route around 9:45 a.m. Vehicles will not be able to drive or cross the route until the parade finishes, unless participating in the parade.

Just like magic, the rain stopped just moments before the scheduled 11 a.m. step-off. The rain certainly kept the crowds down and scared some participants away, but the 2021 Bar Harbor 4th of July Parade went off, with everyone dry and the town looking its best! July 4, 2019 was a gorgeous day in Bar Harbor! The weather was sunny with temperatures in the low 80's with a slight ocean breeze. Bar Harbor's 4th of July Parade didn't disappoint!
