YouTube Confessor Gets Six and a Half Years
Follow up on the 22 year old young man, Matthew Cordle who made the YouTube confession of striking and killing a man while driving drunk. He has received a six and a half year sentence from an Ohio’s Franklin County Judge David Fais.
He will also never have a driver’s license again. Amazingly enough his confession is still and I quote, "The true punishment is simply living with the knowledge that I took an innocent life," he said. "That pain and weight will never go away."
I was a little surprised to read that even though he apologized to the victim’s family in private the victim’s daughter asked the judge to give him the maximum sentence of eight and a half years.
Matthews blood alcohol after the accident was 0.19 and his point of confessing and taking the punishment was to encourage you not to drink and drive.
