Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Coastal Hancock, Washington Counties

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for much of interior eastern Maine including coastal Hancock and Washington counties.

The latest forecast is calling for snow and freezing rain for the area tonight beginning at about 9 p.m. Thursday and lasting until about 5 a.m. Friday. While snow accumulations are expected to be only around one inch around Ellsworth and Bar Harbor, roads could be slippery as mixed precipitation develops.

Northern Maine — from about Presque Isle north — is likely to see more snow, with three to five inches expected.
